Wednesday, April 4: Vocabulary Ch 10 Test. Preview Ch 9 in the Effective Reader. Novel should be finished. Novel project due April 11.
Monday, April 2: Study Vocabulary Ch 10. Test on Ch 8 in the Effective Reader & finish work on MyReadingLab.com by 4-1. Finish the novel by April 1.
Wednesday, March 28: Vocabulary Ch 9 test. Review Ch 8 in the Effective Reader & finish work on MyReadingLab.com by 4-1. Finish the novel by April 1. This week figure out what type of presentation you want to do (video, powerpoint, audio recording, etc.) and figure out what format you want (interview a character, make a photo collage, advertisement for the book, etc.).
In lieu of class on March 19 and 21 please complete the following assignments by March 24:
Vocabulary Work: Study Ch 9. Test will be given on Wednesday, March 28.Master Reader Work: Read Ch 8 in the Master Reader. On MyReadingLab.com, complete all review materials and one each of the activities for Pattern of Organization: Compare and Contrast, Cause and Effect, Generalization and Example, & Definition and Example.Your Novel: Plan to finish your novel by April 1. To determine how many pages you need to read per night (total pages in book) - (pages you've already read) = pages left.(pages left) / (number of nights until April 1) = pages per night.Wednesday, March 14: Vocabulary Ch 8 test. Read Ch 8 in the Effective Reader. Calculate how many pages per night you need to read to finish by April 1.

Mon, Feb 6: Study Ch 4 Vocab. Review Ch 4 Master Tests (pg 187-194). Chapter 3 & 4 Effective Reader Test. Preview Ch 5 in Effective Reader. Read first 30 pages of your novel.
Wed, Feb 1: Ch 3 Vocab Test. Preview Ch 4 in Effective Reader. "Your Novel" approval needed by Feb. 1.
Mon, Jan 30: Study Ch 3 Vocab. Complete Mastery Test 1, 2, and 3 (pages 139-144). Preview Ch 4 in Effective Reader. Find a book you are interested in reading for this class (approval needed by Feb. 1).
Wednesday, Jan 25: Ch 2 Vocabulary Test. Finish previewing Ch 3 in Effective Reader. Find a book you are interested in reading for this class (approval needed by February 1).
Jan 23: Ch 1 & 2 Effective Reader Test. From Ch 2 (Effective Reader) choose 2 Mastery Tests (pg 87-94). Preview Ch 3 in Effective Reader.
Jan 18: Ch 1 Vocabulary Test. Choose 2 mastery test between pg 35-42 to complete SQ3R for. Preview Ch 2 (pg 43-76)
Jan 16: MLK Day. No Class.
Jan 11: Return signed syllabus slip. Read Ch 1.
